Influenza vaccination 2024/2025

  • The influenza vaccination is the best protection against influenza.
  • People who are in contact with elderly or sick people and babies should be vaccinated.
  • Vaccination is also recommended for older people over 65 and people who want to reduce their influenza risk.
  • The vaccination at the Central Apotheke Thalwil takes only 15 minutes and you can conveniently register online.

The influenza vaccination is especially recommended for people who have professional or private contact with sick or elderly people or babies. Influenza vaccination is also recommended for older people over the age of 65 and for those with chronic illnesses. Who is at the risk of contracting influenza due to professional and/or private reasons can also consider getting an influenza vaccination. We have summarised in our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) about influenza vaccination all important questions about the influenza vaccination.

When should the 2023/2024 influenza vaccination take place? The optimal time for vaccination is between mid-October and mid-November. This time is also recommended in the Corona pandemic. People who do not belong to the risk group can still be vaccinated later without any problems.

The influenza vaccination at the pharmacy is suitable for adults and adolescents aged 16 and over.

Tip: Bring your vaccination booklet to the vaccination appointment so that we can check your vaccination status.

Does health insurance pay for the influenza vaccination at the pharmacy?

Currently, the cost of the influenza vaccination at the pharmacy is not officially covered by the compulsory health insurance. However, it has been our experience that the health insurance companies often pay the costs (minus deductible and excess) if the invoice is sent in. This is especially true for people 65 years and older and those at increased risk of complications. Depending on the supplementary insurance, part of the costs may also be covered. To be on the safe side, we recommend asking the respective health insurance company in advance.
